Exotic Canadian Maple-Glazed Salmon Skillet

Exotic Canadian Maple-Glazed Salmon Skillet

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each, skin-on)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1/4 cup pure Canadian maple syrup

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp freshly grated ginger

  • 1 tsp lime zest

  • 1 tbsp lime juice

  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

  • Sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

  • Fresh cilantro and lime wedges for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prep the Marinade
In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic, ginger, lime zest, lime juice, and cayenne pepper. Set aside 2 tbsp of this glaze for finishing.

  2. Marinate the Salmon
Pat the salmon fillets dry and season both sides with salt and pepper. Place them in a shallow dish and pour the remaining glaze over top. Marinate for 15–20 minutes (no longer, or the citrus will begin to cook the fish).

  3. Sear in the Nutri-stahl Large Skillet
Heat olive oil in your Nutri-stahl Large Skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon fillets skin-side down. Sear for 3–4 minutes without moving them, allowing the skin to crisp. Flip carefully.

  4. Glaze and Cover
Pour in the reserved glaze, then cover with the skillet’s lid to trap the steam. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook another 3–4 minutes, until salmon is tender and glazed to a caramel-like finish.

  5. Finish and Serve
Transfer salmon to plates. Spoon the thickened glaze from the skillet over each fillet. Garnish with chopped cilantro and lime wedges.
