North African Harissa Chicken & Sweet Potato Skillet

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken thighs, boneless & skinless

  • 2 tbsp harissa paste

  • 1 tbsp paprika

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • 1 tsp ground coriander

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 large red onion, sliced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 large sweet potatoes, cubed

  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced

  • ½ cup chicken broth

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish

  • Lemon wedges (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken
    In a bowl, mix harissa, paprika, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Coat chicken thoroughly.

  2. Sear in the Nutri-Stahl skillet
    Preheat the Large Skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and sear 3–4 minutes per side until deeply golden. Remove and set aside.

  3. Build the flavor base
    In the same skillet, add onions and cook until soft and lightly caramelized. Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds.

  4. Add vegetables
    Add sweet potatoes and bell pepper. Toss well to coat in the spices.

  5. Simmer
    Return chicken to skillet. Pour in chicken broth, cover, and simmer 18–22 minutes until sweet potatoes are tender and chicken is cooked through.

  6. Finish
    Garnish with fresh herbs and a squeeze of lemon before serving.
