Ingredients (serves 2–3)

1 cup basmati or long-grain rice

2 cups water

1 tbsp butter or ghee

1 small cinnamon stick

2–3 whole cloves

3 cardamom pods, lightly crushed

½ tsp ground turmeric

1 tbsp sugar (optional, for authentic sweetness)

½ tsp salt

2 tbsp golden raisins (sultanas)
Instructions

Rinse the Rice
Wash rice under cold water until the water runs clear. -
Prepare the Nutri-stahl 1 QT
Place the saucepan on medium heat. Add butter/ghee, then sauté cinnamon stick, cloves, and cardamom for 30 seconds until aromatic. -
Add Rice & Spices
Stir in the rice, coating with the spiced butter. Add turmeric and mix well for a bright yellow color. -
Simmer & Steam
Add water, salt, and sugar. Stir once, then bring to a gentle boil. Reduce heat to low, cover with the lid, and let it steam for 15–20 minutes. -
Finish
Add raisins, fluff gently with a fork, and cover again for 2 minutes to let the raisins soften in the steam.
