Exotic Spiced Harissa Shrimp Pasta

Exotic Spiced Harissa Shrimp Pasta

Ingredients:

For the Pasta:

  • 12 oz linguine or fettuccine

  • Salted water (for boiling)

For the Skillet Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced

  • 1 tbsp harissa paste (adjust to taste – spicy!)

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon

  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or coconut cream

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley or cilantro

  • Optional: crumbled feta or goat cheese for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Cook Pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta until al dente, then drain and set aside. Toss with a little olive oil to prevent sticking.

  2. Sauté Shrimp in Nutri-Stahl Skillet:
Heat olive oil in your Nutri-Stahl Large Skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp and sprinkle with salt, cumin, and paprika. Sauté for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and just cooked through. Remove and set aside.

  3. Build the Sauce:
In the same skillet, add a touch more oil if needed. Add garlic, red onion, and cherry tomatoes. Sauté for 3–5 minutes until soft and fragrant.

  4. Add Spice & Cream:
Stir in harissa paste, cinnamon, lemon zest, and juice. Let it bubble for 1–2 minutes. Add cream and stir to combine, scraping the bottom of the skillet for extra flavor.

  5. Combine:
Return the shrimp to the skillet. Add cooked pasta directly into the sauce and toss everything to coat evenly. Taste and adjust salt or spice as desired.

  6. Finish & Serve:
Top with chopped herbs and optional cheese. Serve hot with warm naan or crusty bread.
