Garlic Ginger Soy Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breast)
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil (or sesame oil)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey (or brown sugar)
  • ½ tbsp rice vinegar
  • ¼ cup water
  • ½ tsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)
  • 1 green onion, sliced (for garnish)
  • ½ tsp toasted sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Nutri-Stahl 1 QT Cookware

    • Place the pot on low-medium heat. Add the vegetable or sesame oil.
  2. Sauté Aromatics

    • Add minced garlic and ginger, stirring for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Cook the Chicken

    • Place the chicken thighs in the pot and sear for about 2 minutes per side until slightly golden.
  4. Add the Sauce

    • In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, water, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
    • Pour the sauce over the chicken.
  5. Simmer and Cook

    • Cover with the lid and let it simmer for 15 minutes on low heat.
    • If you want a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with 1 tbsp of water and stir it into the sauce. Simmer for an additional 3 minutes.
  6. Garnish and Serve

    • Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
    • Serve hot with steamed rice or stir-fried vegetables.
