Moroccan-Spiced Beef Skillet

Moroccan-Spiced Beef Skillet

Ingredients

For the Beef

  • 1½ lbs beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp sea salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

For the Moroccan Spice Blend

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

  • ½ tsp ground coriander

  • ¼ tsp turmeric

  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

For the Skillet Base

  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • ½ cup dried apricots, chopped

  • ¼ cup toasted sliced almonds

  • ½ cup beef broth

  • 1 tbsp honey

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Garnish

  • Fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped

  • Lemon wedges

Instructions

1. Preheat the Skillet

Place the Nutri-Stahl Large Skillet over medium heat. Allow it to preheat for about 2 minutes. Add olive oil.

2. Sear the Beef

Season the beef with salt and black pepper. Add the beef strips to the skillet in a single layer. Sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned but not fully cooked. Remove the beef and set aside.

3. Build the Flavor Base

In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened. Add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

4. Add Spices

Sprinkle the Moroccan spice blend over the onions and stir well. Allow the spices to toast for about 1 minute to release their aroma.

5. Simmer the Sauce

Add the chopped apricots, beef broth, honey, and lemon juice. Stir and let the mixture simmer for 3–4 minutes to create a lightly thickened sauce.

6. Finish the Dish

Return the beef to the skillet and stir to coat with the sauce. Cook for 2–3 additional minutes until the beef is tender and heated through.

7. Garnish and Serve

Sprinkle toasted almonds and fresh cilantro or parsley on top. Serve with lemon wedges.
